Emphasis is a clothing design company headed by lead designer Mrs. Petra Moore-Best. Upon finishing school, Petra began working for Millhouse Clothing, headed by Gregory Mills, where she became a quick study and learnt the craft of tailoring men’s clothing. During her years at Millhouse Petra mastered her craft; structured men’s clothing that showcased the desirable quality that comes with timeless construction.
Emphasis was built with a clear vision. Its foundation was based on quality, fit, design and true passion. Petra Moore-Best was determined to have an input in the Caribbean fashion industry and further influence how women dressed. From these humble beginnings the company grew and gained the loyalty of many professional women.
In 2006 Emphasis was asked to be a part of Coco Velvet’s Makin Style Fashion Week at Queens Hall Port-of-Spain showcasing its first collection “Fashion in the Board Room” winning the award for “Best Business Wear Designer”
