New Designer Peggy-Ann Simon’s fashion sense was established late in her teenaged years. Simon interned at The Cloth by Robert Anthony Young for a short season and because of this was afforded the opportunity to work behind the scenes of the First Annual Trinidad and Tobago Fashion Week.
Simon was inspired by her experience at Fashion Week, and began to document her designs by scrap sketch and written notes.
Simon customized ready-made male and female clothing for a very minute clientele consisting of a handful of friends. The hand-altered pieces afforded Simon the opportunity to practice her craft and expand on ideas to fit the likeness of her clients.
In September 2009, whilst on vacation in Tobago, Simon was introduced to Tobagonian designer Ashley Christmas of Earthmembers4life. Christmas’ expertise and success motivated Simon to do more. P. Simon Designs (pSd) will present debut her Collection of Resort Wear at this year’s Fashion Week Trinidad and Tobago.
