About FWTT

The focus for Fashion Week Trinidad & Tobago is to revitalize and develop the local fashion industry and bring about the awareness of its lucrative socio-economic potential. We recognize the tremendous creative and technical fashion talent present in our nation and strive to provide opportunities for the fashion industry’s consistent development – both locally and regionally – ultimately becoming a global fashion force.

For Year 3

In our third year, FWTT pays tribute to 2010 as the year of Biodiversity. Honoring proactive initiatives for the preservation of nature and for current and future human wellbeing, FWTT3 designated our three major agendas:

  1. Staying power
  2. Sustainable development
  3. Style definition

FWTT3 is determined to facilitate opportunities for young people to access the ability, authority and agency to influence decisions and implement change within the developing local fashion industry. FWTT3 carries the banner to promote this
staying power – the resilience to sustain life on earth and the capacity to chart the future through responsible choices.

In appreciation of the Trinidad and Tobago government’s “Vision 2020” business development strategies, and influenced by the economic principles of
sustainable development, FWTT3 forges ahead. FWTT3 supports development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

Both the biodiversity and sustainable development policies accelerate the momentum to achieve a style agenda which defines the philosophy of a Caribbean aesthetic – an alternative fashion perspective born out of a regional experience, and charting a new-world identity and characterized by an inimitable Trinbagonian style.
